Benjamin B. Bevington

Benjamin B. Bevington was born on 10 June 1807, in Beaver County, Pennsylvania.  He was the son of Henry Bevington (circa 1753-1843) and Ann BLAKSON (b. circa 1751). He married Sarah WOLGAMOTT on 19 December 1833.  She was the daughter of John Wolgamott (circa 1789-1860) and Elizabeth HEALY (circa 1797-1841).  Sometime before 1880, they bought a farm near Maysville, Salt Creek Township, Wayne County, Ohio and moved there.  He died there on 21 April 1882, and is buried there in Eaststagecoach Cemetery.  Sarah died a year later on 23 April 1883 and is buried with him.

Benjamin and Sarah had thirteen known children:

  1. John Bevington was born  27 October 1835; died 1835.
  2. Elizabeth Ellen Bevington born 3 August 1837; died 13 July 1840
  3. Levi Joseph Bevington born 7 Aug 1839 o; died 12 December 1915. He fought in the Civil War.
  4. Benjamin Silas Bevington born 26 August 1841; died 2 February 1930. He fought in the Civil War.
  5. Jacob W. Bevington born 22 Aug 1842; died 17 July 1919.  For more information on Jacob click ---here--- .
  6. Lucy C. Bevington born 7 January 1844; died about 1846.
  7. Nancy Jane Bevington born 21 September 1845; died 26 February 1871.
  8. James Martin Bevington born 7 December1847; died 16 November 1884
  9. Winfield Isaac Bevington born 2 January 1850; died 2 February 1907.
  10. Sarah Victoria Bevington born 29 May 1855; died 12 October 1882.
  11. Alexander C. Bevington born 2 February 1858; died 10 February 1882.
  12. Minerva S. Bevington born 8 May 1859; died 31 December 1879.
  13. Clara B. Bevington born 18 September 1860; died 10 September 1941.
