Joseph Donohue Sr. was AKA. He was born before 1730. He married Rachel (?) after 1755.1 Joseph Donohue Sr. lived before 1772 at Duck Creek Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware.2 He migrated to; Joseph came with Edward Skidmore and wife, Benjamin and William Cleaver, and probably Jesse Hamilton.2 He lived on 2 July 1778 at Augusta County, Virginia; Moses Thompson's estate appraised by William and Benj. Cleaver, Joseph Danaho---1 entry of land at the Cherry Tree Fork; 1 entry of land at Thompson's Meadows; 1 enty of land at Big Lick; 1 plantation whereon dwelling house is.3 He lived in 1784 at Harrison County, West Virginia; On 18 Aug 1784 the newly constituted Harrison County court ordered Jacob Westfall to make a list of all white people living in his former militia district which included the Wilmouth's Settlement on Leading Creek. The list was taken, as ordered, on 30 October 1784. It included the DONOHO's Settlement: The settlement was next below Hamilton's in the present Oak Grove Addition. Joseph Donoha was listed as a neighbor, with ten white person, one dwelling, and one tithable (which suggests that the fort was enumerated as an "other" building).4,2
He was Legal Action Joseph Donahue, along with 77 other settlers of that area, signed a petition to have their area made a part of Monongalia County because of the difficulties accrued in traveling to the county court house in Augusta County. on 7 November 1790 at Tigers (Tygart Valley), Augusta County, Virginia.
